The Cannabis Future Network in Thailand is gathering signatures for a petition, aiming to accumulate 10,000 names to induce parliament to continue its studying of the Cannabis-Hemp Act. This laws, if passed, would permit residents to cultivate marijuana at home and prohibit the importation of hashish merchandise for half a decade.
Prasitchai Nunual, the head of the network, yesterday stated that the act, initially consisting of ninety five sections, only reached Section 17 in parliament’s studying due to a shift in authorities.
This part permits people to domesticate cannabis plants domestically. Simultaneously, the Cannabis-Hemp Act seeks to impose a five-year ban on hashish importation, fostering a domestic manufacturing and consumption setting.

On Monday, Prasitchai revealed, that the community hosted a discussion in Chiang Mai to deliberate on the feasibility of the Cannabis-Hemp Act. He clarified that cannabis is not officially categorized as a narcotic and may be grown at home for medicinal use.
Key factors of debate on the occasion included the eligibility of a cannabis committee, regulations for home-grown and large-scale hashish, the licensing process, renewal rights, and grounds for revocation.
The community panel also deliberated on points surrounding the sale of cannabis, promoting rules, child protection measures, penalties, public nuisance from marijuana consumption, and potential methods for hashish research and improvement within Thailand.
The community plans to traverse Thailand to gather public opinion on the Cannabis-Hemp Act and acquire the ten,000 signatures required for the petition to amend the cannabis-related legislation.
