The 30 deepwell fuel pumps might be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is considered one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders to date. It can be the second LNG fuel pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has positioned with Svanehøj within the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gas pumps in 2021, and says there are numerous indications that gross sales might enhance even further in 2022.
“Until a few years ago, the use of LNG as a marine gas was limited to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a pointy improve in gas pump orders for deep sea vessels similar to container ships and car carriers,” stated Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We have been chosen as the supplier of gas pump techniques for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we goal to extend our market share further in the coming years.”
