Thai police arrested an Uzbek man at Suvarnabhumi Airport simply as he was about to flee the country due to his involvement in illegal prostitution in Pattaya.
Police officers from the Anti Trafficking In Person Division and the Consul of the Consulate-General of Uzbekistan, Nuriddin Mamatkulov, held a press conference right now, July 7, to reveal the arrest details of the 32 yr old Uzbek man, Navruzbek.
Officers revealed that they acquired a grievance from two non-profit organisations, NightLight, and Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R), regarding prostitution in Pattaya. The organisations relayed data from an Uzbek victim who told them that she was lured into working in a brothel near Pattaya Walking Street.
According to the sufferer, a felony gang from Uzbekistan enticed girls by offering a place as a chef’s assistant in Pattaya. The gang claimed they might cowl transportation costs and visa charges in advance and attracted victims with promises of excessive wages and free lodging.
Each girl needed to take care of a minimum of 4 clients per day and needed to work from 6pm to 6am every single day. They have been provided with just one meal a day and received no fee for his or her providers. All earnings went to the employers. The victims had been held captive within the brothel. The employers claimed that every victim owed them US$5,000 (176,000 baht) for his or her travel expenses and visa. They had to pay all of the debt in the occasion that they needed their freedom.
The employers were within the process of transferring the woman, and others to Bahrain, but she managed to flee and seek help from one of many non-profit organisations.
Following a police investigation, three suspects were found to be involved within the case. Nothing to it of the gang, a forty two 12 months old Uzbek woman Samrat, a 22 year outdated Uzbek man Diloromkhon, who was answerable for luring victims to work, and an Uzbek man answerable for discovering prospects, named Navruzbek.
